The Morning After...

In keeping with my policy of remaining politically vague, I will say the election results confirm every theory I have ever had about this country, in particular the states in between New York and California. And somewhere, Al Jourgensen secretly smiles.

As Batman has often proven, fear is a weapon, kids.

Although I believe what you don't have the guts to say is that you voted for Bush (; >), what you DID say was excellently stated.

Bravo.

The original lyrics (slightly altered) written by DeSanto/Hess circa 1989:

Mr Repeato
Mr Repeato
The Irish Guido
The Irish Guido
Hangs around Suffolk
Hangs around Suffolk
In his green Speedo
In his green Speedo.

Ash, you can use these lyrics ;-)

Although I agree with your sentiment about fear being a big factor in this election, I must respectfully point out that more people in New York voted for Bush than did in Ohio (my home 'flyover' state) and twice as many folks voted for him in California. I think (all) the people have spoken and it ain't pretty.

pretty is in the eye of the voter...

The thing is Fuss, the populations of NY and Cali are so much bigger than that of Ohio that that statistic is inevitable.

I get that, but I feel like all the talk about red states and blue states ignores the fact that there are still many votes cast for the candidate that didn't win the state. Regardless of the population, there are a lot of NY Reps (although I don't know any) and OH Dems (like my whole family). There were no landslides except for the 90% Kerry vote in DC which is awesome.

I am just saying geography ain't everything.

fuss - i'll bet you know more NY Reps than you think
